EEG-Bank: A Service For Healthy Individuals

Throughout our lives, we are all submitted to health problems and several unpredictable accidents that may seriously threaten us. When those cases occur, it may be crucial for a doctor to make a quick and correct diagnose. Unless your doctor has "reference information" about you in your normal and healthy state, it may be very difficult to find out whether your EEG test properties are a reflection of your problem or if they were already reflecting the same properties before the problem occurred, e.g. as a natural individual features of the functioning of your brain.

In such conditions it is worth to have the possibility to determining whether or to what extent purely psychological factors such as divorce, emotional trauma or death, etc. are contributing to the functional changes in the brain. Also some medical treatment or accident may course the neurological and organic changes in the brain. For all these cases the doctor should have the "reference point" - normal EEG, in order to understand whether and to what extent there is neurological/organic and/or functional basis of the coming disease.

There are at least four primary usages of an EEG-bank:

1.	To assess the neurological status of the client in normal state and to determine to what extent there is the neurological basis for the client's complaints (when they will appear).
2.	To identify possible strengths and weaknesses in organization and in the electrophysiological status of the client's brain, so as to determine the risks of neurological dysfunctions and/or diseases.
3.	To find out whether the brain development occurs normally as a function of age or if there are deviations from normal development.
4.	To increase efficiency and to objectively evaluate the efficacy of diagnosis and/or treatment by comparing the client's EEG before, during and after the disease and during the course of the treatment.

Our EEG-bank meets international standards for responsibility and ethical usage. We also work in the frame of the Helsinki Declaration on Ethical Principles for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects.

Storage Policy:

EEG-bank provides storage facilities for individuals who desire to store their own EEG (or EEG of relatives) and its analysis for future use.
Due to the natural functional evolutionary changes of the different areas of the brain, and also for the case that if an event occurs in your life you may have a recent/fresh reference registration, we recommend that an EEG is recorded and submitted to us at least once per year.
Upon your request, we will send the analysis reports to you or to a doctor appointed by you. (The sending of two reports per analysis are free of charge, we will charge a shipping and handling fee for extra reports).

During the scientific analysis of the data, our team may also discover some possible irregularities that may reflect a disease or a state that could require special attention, in those cases, we will notify you with the details and recommend you to take the information to your doctor.

In order to ask us to study your case, you need to fill in the "EEG-Bank Service - Order Form" carefully, correctly and truthfully, and submit all the details of your case to us. The consistency of your data will be briefly checked, and you will be asked to pay our service fee. After we have successfully received the funds, our scientific team will start the analysis.

Follow the steps bellow:

1.	Find out a laboratory to register your EEG, register it and send it to us (check our F.A.Q.)
2.	Fill in the EEG-Bank Service - Order Form (click here)
3.	Wait for an e-mail from BM-Science. It should normally arrive within 1 or 2 working days.
4.	Pay the EEG-Bank service fee of 219 € to cover the scientific analysis and storage of report and data. (if you are a private person living outside the European Union , or a company outside Finland, you do not need to pay the Value Added Tax, for you the service fee is only 179.51 € - EU companies must always provide us with the VAT Registration ID)
5.	Our team will perform the EEG scientific analysis and store your data in the EEG-bank. We will send you a copy of the report, in case you had requested, or in case we find some possible anomalies.
