EEG / MEG issues:

- What is an EEG? and MEG?
Reply:
EEG stands for Electroencephalogram. It is a registration of the electric signals produced by the brain and measured in many different points of your scalp/head.
MEG stands for Magnetoencephalogram. With MEG you measure electromagnetic fields in particular locations of the scalp.
This signals from the brain are later analyzed, and they provide information to guide your doctor on your health condition.
BM-Science analyzes the EEG or MEG signals using advanced scientific quantitative methods that are not available to EEG laboratories.
- Can I send my old EEG registrations to be analyzed by BM-Science?
Reply:
Yes, if you order our pre-evaluation services and then if your EEG registrations can be given to us in one of the supported standard digital formats.
BM-Science only analyzes EEGs recorded in a digital form. Nowadays, many EEG laboratories have digital registration equipment, and they are able to save your EEG data file on a CD.
Before asking your EEG laboratory to give your data to you, please contact BM-Science asking us for advise on the supported file formats.
BM-Science does not analyze EEG registrations printed on paper (their quality is not good enough for precise scientific analysis.)
- Can I register an EEG in BM-Science facilities?
Reply:
No, you must register your digital EEG in a EEG Laboratory or in a clinic with the appropriate equipment, according to special instructions given by BM-Science.
BM-Science only provides scientific research or consulting. We do not take the function of Medical Laboratory nor provide Healthcare Service.
- Where can I do a digital EEG registration?
Reply:
Ask your doctor for the nearest laboratories or clinics that have digital equipment for EEG registration. It is likely that you may do it in your own doctor's clinic.
You may also consult the yellow pages of your own region.
If You can't find a laboratory to register a new EEG, please contact BM-Science and we will try to help you finding an appropriate laboratory in your region.
- How can I send the EEG file(s) to BM-Science for analysis?
Reply:
Your laboratory can write/save the EEG signal to a data file and write it on a CD. You may then send us the CD e.g. by mail. (see our contact information)
If you or your laboratory or clinic has access to high-speed Internet, you may also upload the EEG signal straight to our company servers. (e-mail us for details)
