Does BM-Science produce clinically relevant reports?
Reply:
Yes. Our specialists prepare clinically relevant scientific reports for each case.
|
| - |
Does BM-Science provide interpretative support on the report to the clinician?
Reply:
Our reports are written in an understandable manner for a clinician.
Each BM-Science report contains a written classic EEG report as part of
the QEEG report. However if you have problems with interpretation,
please send us an e-mail

My clinic orders analysis consulting services from BM-Science very often,
and we find it inconvenient to ask our patients to pay the service as a separate
fee straight to BM-Science. The payment also delays the service delivery. Could we improve this issue?
Reply:
Yes, certainly. It is possible for either a private doctor or a clinic
to open a customer account with BM-Science. The doctor may then order the
services from BM-Science and the services will be charged to the customer
account. The doctor may then bill his patient separately.
BM-Science invoices the customers holding a customer account on a monthly basis.
In fact, there are other advantages in opening a BM-Science customer account: as a
regular customer, you better understand our operational process and the scientific
service requirements, permitting us to deliver the service in a better way with
advantages for both parts. BM-Science compensates you for that, if you wish to
open or to known the benefits of opening a BM-Science Customer Account,
please send us an e-mail

What is "Quantitative EEG" (QEEG)?
Reply:
The core principle of QEEG lies in "precise and objective quantification"
by computerized analytic and statistical techniques. It permits us to
extract more precise information from the brain electrical activity than when using the conventional simple un-aided visual inspection of EEG signal.
|
| - |
What is the difference between "clinical EEG" and QEEG?
Reply:
A QEEG is not the same as a "clinical EEG". QEEG is a computerized
statistical technique used to objectively measure precise
electrophysiological activity in particular regions of the brain and
relations between them. It permits an accurate "pattern recognition"
which is impossible with routine visual analysis of EEG (clinical EEG).

What is the advantage of an QEEG study compared to a standard clinical EEG?
Reply:
- The data which is obtained using QEEG is virtually impossible to
obtain when using the standard EEG. The abundant and valuable information
provided by QEEG allows you to feel certain, confident about the findings that
you could be uncertain if you use the conventional EEG.
However, a QEEG study done without visual EEG evaluation in the best case
it may miss clinically relevant information and in the worse case it may
wrongly interpret artifacts as pathology.
In the analysis, BM-Science always does visual analysis of the signal
and co-relates it with the QEEG results - Visual EEG and analysis and
QEEG are complementary.

Is "brain mapping" the same as QEEG?
Reply:
It is common that brain electrical activity mapping or simply
"mapping" is taken as a synonymous for QEEG. This is a WRONG assumption.
Mapping is only a display technique and only one step of the QEEG
procedure, and not an essential one.

Are there age restriction for patients to be submitted to EEG or MEG analysis?
Reply:
All ages are accepted, including newborns.

What is the difference between PET, MRI and EEG?
Reply:
The EEG permits to evaluate the manner in which a particular person’s
brain functions are organized and how the brain use its strength
to cope with a disease and how it compensate/adapts to it. PET and MRI
are not used for the this purpose, they provide a physical structural
assesment on a morphological level, not being suitable for real-time
functional activity assessment.
EEG/QEEG, or PET and MRI are distinct techniques. They evaluate
different phenomena, and these techniques may only complement each other.

If a person has previously filled in the service order questionaries on
the web site of BM-Science, and if the person now needs to order
another service, Does it need to fill in the web-questionary again?
Reply:
No, the person does not need to fill in the form again. The person
only needs to go back to the correct web-questionary, read it carefully
and send us an e-mail
ordering the service and informing us of some
information that may be new or may have changed since the last time.

Can old EEG registrations be sent to BM-Science for analysis?
Reply:
Yes. Your EEG registration must be in one of the supported standard digital formats.
BM-Science only analyzes EEGs recorded in a digital form. Nowadays,
many EEG laboratories have digital registration equipment.
Before sending the EEG data for analysis, please
contact BM-Science for advise on the supported
file formats.
BM-Science does not analyze EEG registrations printed on paper (their quality is not good enough for precise scientific analysis.)

How can I send the EEG file(s) to BM-Science for analysis?
Reply:
You can write/save the EEG signal to a data file and write it on a CD.
You may then send us the CD e.g. by mail. (see our contact information)
If your laboratory or clinic has high-speed Internet access, you may also
upload the EEG signal straight to our company servers.
(e-mail us for details)

Can the EEG registration be done in BM-Science facilities?
Reply:
No, the digital EEG must be registered in a laboratory or clinic,
and the procedure should be done
according to special instructions given by BM-Science.
BM-Science only provides scientific research or consulting.
We do not take the function of Medical Laboratory nor provide
Healthcare Service.
