BM-Science in partnership with Breathwork Finland (Tomi Räisänen and Emily Räisänen) and Kalpataru (Dr. Tarja Kallio-Tamminen) conducting a collaborative research study aimed to examine the effects of breathing on brain-mind functioning and on the dynamics of phenomenological experience of Selfhood.

In this long-term study, we aim to investigate the neural correlates (measured by the qEEG) underlying brain-mind and self-awareness functioning as modified by breathing exercises. Such exercises are predicted to enhance mental health, lessen stress, enhance cognitive functions, and calm and clarify the mind. Additionally, a collection of first-person, subjective reports is made to assess the subjective experience of changes in self-awareness.
